Web Designer
As a member of our talented Web Design team, you will be responsible for delivering creative web solutions in a deadline-driven environment. This includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
  • Updating current website content.
  • Creating new retention and revenue generating features for existing websites.
  • Designing new websites while maintaining company brand standards.
  • Designing and delivery of email campaigns, newsletters, and print material.
We are looking for candidates who have:
  • A two-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of XHTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Expertise in current web standards, accessibility guidelines, usability practices and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with managing website content.
  • Ability to learn new internet and authoring technologies relevant for website development.
  • A good understanding of dynamic web content and database driven web sites.
  • Ability to clearly document all projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask, work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of PHP preferred but not required.

Senior .NET Developer
As a member of our talented Software Development team, you'll be able to do the following:
  • Own the software development lifecycle-from inception to deployment. Set yourself and your applications up for success.
  • Design and Implement E-business applications to deliver our digital media.
  • Work with the website team to develop a QA process that will ensure performance of application rollouts.
  • Work in Microsoft environment using Visual Studio .Net with emphasis in C# and ASP.NET 2.0., T-SQL using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
Our ideal candidate has:
  • At least five years of experience in each of the above areas.
  • Experience developing web-based applications and tools. Imaging experience (Adobe, TIF manipulation, etc.) is a huge plus.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, provide creative solutions, adapt to a constantly changing environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • A positive attitude and an interest in taking our company to the next level.

Weekend Technical Support Representative
Due to company growth, we are creating a small team of Technical Support Representatives to our NewspaperARCHIVE.com "customer experience" team. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor website activity - analyze trends and report issues to appropriate IT contacts when necessary.
  • Identify, respond to, and coordinate the resources required to resolve network impacting events.
  • Assist with any testing of features and functionality on the newspaperARCHIVE.com web site.
  • Communicate with customers by phone and email concerning their subscription; assistance with newspaper content searches and inquiries; billing inquiries; technical issues, etc.
  • Probe customers for technical information in relation to their issue to assist in resolution by the IT staff.
  • Troubleshoot various levels of website performance and create trouble tickets or report usability bugs.
  • Cooperatively test websites and work with Development, IT, and QA on deployments, upgrades and hot fixes.
  • Special projects as deemed necessary by management.
  • Reporting/data aggregation.
  • Use internally made tools to process images for website.
  • Burn CD/DVDs for digitization.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills:
  • Microsoft Office Tools - Need to be able to make tables in Excel and Word, able to provide visualization of aggregated data
  • Familiarity with network monitoring console (WildMetrix preferred).
  • Bug tracking and ticket systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking.
  • High level of analytical ability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to grasp new technical concepts and apply them logically to analyze web system.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.

Part-time shifts on Saturdays and Sundays:
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
3:30 p.m. - Midnight

The ideal candidate has the ability to learn technical concepts quickly. Must be Internet-savvy and have a great attitude along with tons of initiative. Previous experience in a network operation center or technical customer support role is a huge plus, but not required.

We are adding additional Customer Service Representatives to our NewspaperARCHIVE.com team. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Contact current subscribers to ensure satisfaction with their membership and add additional service.
  • Contact previous subscribers with offers to restart their membership.
  • Talk with customers by phone, e-mail and live chat concerning their subscription; assistance with newspaper content searches and inquiries; billing inquiries; poster shipments and complaints.
  • Receive and enter phone and fax orders.
  • Make changes to or cancel orders/backorders.
  • Handle customer questions and issues in a professional manner.
  • Obtain customer feedback information.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of outbound customer service experience, and above-average computer and typing skills. Must be Internet-savvy and have a great attitude along with tons of initiative. Previous experience with collections or point-of-sale software is a huge plus, but not required.
